Practice Chanter Sets
These are intended to help beginners to choose a chanter,
book and recording.
However, there are more chanters and books on our other pages if you prefer to pick
your own set.

CHS1A. Easy beginner's offer, standard
chanter: Rosewood standard CH11 chanter (see photo), reed, Shepherd manual and accompanying CD. This book
covers the practice chanter itself, including information on the reed, bagpipe scale,
finger position, step-by-step instruction on blowing the notes properly, time signatures
and how to count, exercises, grace notes, skip notes, dotted notes, embellishments,
melodies, compound time, dancing tunes. Moves slowly, with many photographs. Set of three

CHS1B. Easy beginner's offer, standard chanter: Same as CHS1A, but
