DU1. American hammered dulcimer. 2 1/2 octaves,
46 strings, 12 courses of strings on the left and 11 courses on the right. The body is
solid rosewood; soundboard is mahogany veneer plywood with rods under the soundboard for
extra strength and improved tone. Movable bridges. Size: 36" long, 14 1/2" wide,
2 1/2" deep. Weight: 18 lb. Includes carrying case
(shown below), playing book (see DU2 below) two sets of hammers, tuning key, extra strings,

Note: if you are new to the hammered dulcimer, tuning all those 46 strings can seem like quite a job. We recommend that you find another player to help you with this at first. We do not take this instrument back because of tuning difficulties.
