Sale! The Lyric

fe012061.jpg (12084 bytes)This harp has a wonderful sound. Its large soundbox, and thinner strings of a folk harp give it that huge sound; however, the string tension is firm. Mahogany finish. We have one sitting on the floor. Was $4,450, now $4100.

36 strings, C to C, five octaves
Height: 59"
Weight: 26 1/2 lb

Hardwood, with spruce soundboard
Full flip levers
Strings: nylon, gut and metal composition.
Blue satin dust cover included, with "Lyon & Healy" printed in gold on it.

The New 40-String Prelude

de308021.jpg (17736 bytes)This elegant lever harp has a gold crown and gold claw feet; you could walk past it and think it was a pedal harp if you didn't look closely. It now comes with a very nice floral decal on the soundboard, as shown at left. The Prelude is strung with thicker strings than folk harps in order to give the harpist the same feel as a pedal harp. This makes this harp an excellent choice for the student who plans to move on to the pedal harp, or for anyone who simply wants a good harp that will last. List price includes a well-made slightly padded black cover  with some padding around the harmonic curve and the Lyon & Healy logo embroidered in bright gold. Shipping costs are extra.

Specs: 64" high, 44 lb, 40 strings, range from a low A up to E, combination of nylon, gut and wire, new-style levers. Available in natural, mahogany, walnut and ebony. Lists at $5450. Currently on sale at $4490 for a limited time.

This harp was previously the same height and weight, but 38 strings from low C up to high E.

The Silhouette: Electroacoustic Lever Harp

oc418010.jpg (22235 bytes)The Silhouette shown at left is the latest in harp technology! Each string has a piezo pickup built right into the harp. You plug this harp into your sound system. Given a sleek and innovative design, this lever harp was developed by Lyon & Healy in response to a demand for amplification that produces as good a sound as acoustic playing. In fact, this harp sounds the same from top to bottom because the amplified sound comes from the vibrations of the strings, and not from the acoustic properties of a soundbox (there is no hollow soundbox on this harp).
There are electric transducers on each string; these were specially developed to produce an amplified sound that reproduces the Lyon & Healy acoustic sound. The pickups on this harp's strings are the same as those on the electroacoustic Style 2000 series of pedal harps by L & H. This harp can be used for both stationary and mobile playing (the strap is for the latter). The heavy-duty stand is adjustable for both height and harp angle.
33 strings, from C (two octaves below middle C) up to high G.
Weight: 17 lb.
Height: 49 1/4"
Extreme width: 26 1/2"
Sharping levers on all strings
Assorted finishes: custom colors available.
Price lists at $4,500.  Includes stand, padded carrying case and shoulder strap.

Troubadour VI

Troubadour VI (left): First introduced in 1961, this harp has a solid spruce soundboard, performance levers on every note, improved gold-plated brass eyelets, and gut strings in the 5th octave.
The Troubadour has traditionally been one of the best-known lever harps in the North American pedal harp world, and many teachers still routinely recommend this harp to their students. This lever harp by L & H is strung with thicker strings than true folk harps in order to give the harpist the same feel as a pedal harp. This makes this harp an excellent choice for the student who plans to move on to the pedal harp, or for anyone who simply want a good harp that will last. List price includes a well-made waterproof cover; shipping costs extra.
Specs: 65" high, 41 lb, 36 strings. The range is two octaves below middle C up to C, five full octaves. The strings are made of nylon, with several wound wire strings at the bottom. New-style levers on all strings. Available in natural, mahogany, walnut and ebony. Lists at $3950.
