Celtic Buckles
These have a look of quality, and Celtic men sure like them! (Women are allowed to wear them, too.) These are designed for use with a detachable belt.
Please check the size of each piece carefully against a ruler before ordering. We give measurements of all jewelry pieces on this site so that you will know their size in advance; this will save disappointment, returning pieces, etc.
BU1:
Square cross buckle. This is decorated with a series of Celtic knots with black
highlighting. Pewter, 2 3/4" overall, takes a belt 1 5/8" wide. $36
BU2 Thistle/Celtic rectangular buckle made of polished
pewter. This can be seen in the matching set of buckle, sgian dhu, kilt pin and cufflinks
shown on the Scottish gifts page. 4" x 2 3/4". Takes belt up to 2 1/2"
wide. $46

BU4:
Lugh's knot buckle. This design is composed of several bold Celtic knots in a cutout
design. Pewter, 2 1/2" across, takes a belt 1 5/8" wide. $36

BU5. Large
dragon buckle. This dramatic heavy-weight buckle displays a nice raised dragon with a bold
Celtic interlace around it. The buckle is not flat, but is domed, with antiquing in the
design. Size: 3 1/4" x 2 1/4", takes a belt up to 1 5/8" wide.

BU6:
Cabbyl Ushtey buckle. This is a fine depiction of a horse with a somewhat modern Celtic
interlace look to the flowing waves below its feet. The buckle is named after the Cabbyl
Ushtey of Manx legend, that would rise from its home in the island's deep, dark
pools and take the form of a beautiful white horse. Pewter, 3 3/8" overall, takes a

BU7:
Sutton Hoo buckle. This great showy buckle is a copy of a gold buckle found in the ship
burial of Sutton Hoo, Suffolk, England. Black highlights. 4 1/2" across, a
considerably larger buckle than average. Takes a belt 1 5/8" wide.Pewter. $36
BU8.
Celtic interlace buckle. A fine example of ancient Celtic interweaving. 3 3/4"
across, takes a belt 1 5/8" wide. Pewter. $36

BU10. Celtic
two-piece buckle with cut-out design, especially designed for the ladies. You can sew each
end of a fabric belt onto the pieces, and then fasten the belt by hooking the two pieces
together. We show the buckle both fastened and unfastened at left. It takes a belt up to 1
3/4" wide; the buckle itself is 3 1/2" across when fastened. This is a marvelous
buckle to highlight a dress. $44

BU12. Large
heavyweight rectangular Celtic buckle. This buckle is solid, with black antiquing in the
back- ground. Size: 4 1/4" across, takes a belt up to 2 1/4" wide. Slightly
curved, pewter. Its maker (St. Justin) calls it a kilt buckle. $41

(far left). Celtic buckle, nickel finish. Made in Scotland for standard highland wear.
Size: 3 5/8" x 3 3/4". Takes a belt up to 2 1/4" wide. $28
BU21 (near left). Thistle buckle, nickel finish. Made in Scotland for standard highland

BU22. This beautiful British-made buckle with the raised
Celtic design is made of the finest-quality materials and is hand finished. It is 4"
x 3" and takes a belt that is over 2" wide. The buckle is curved, not flat. $33
